Nick Bradley, CPA: Senior Accounting Consultant (Triangle)    

New addition to the Vaco team, though a well-known commodity. Nick is a results-driven CPA with over 14 years of experience in public and corporate accounting, including SEC reporting, audits, month-end close, and SOX compliance. Nick brings strong technical knowledge in areas such as leases, intangibles, and stock compensation. Most recently, Nick served as Accounting Manager at Veradigm (formerly Allscripts), where he managed SEC financial reporting and complex general ledger areas, supported ASC 842 adoption, and partnered with senior leadership on multiple material divestitures.

Prior to that, he led the month-end close, revenue recognition, and SOX compliance at JAGGAER, a publicly traded software company. Nick began his career at Deloitte in Raleigh, where he led audit engagements for public and private clients and performed extensive SOX testing and financial analysis.

Darin Curtis, CPA: Senior Tax & Accounting Consultant (Triangle)   

New addition to the Vaco team, Darin joins Vaco’s consulting team as a highly regarded accounting professional with deep expertise in public and corporate accounting, tax reporting, and financial operations. He most recently served as Senior Director of Treasury and Compliance at Arabella Advisors, where he led capital expenditure tracking and technical accounting for software and infrastructure projects.

Prior to that, he was Assistant Controller, overseeing core accounting functions and complex tax reporting. Darin also played a key role in Arabella’s NetSuite implementation. Darin began his career with nearly a decade at Deloitte’s Raleigh tax practice supporting family foundations and private equity clients.

Ed Miles, CPA: Senior Accounting Consultant (Triangle)   

Experienced Vaco Consultant, bringing over 35 years of accounting and audit experience across public and private companies. He recently stepped in as Interim Controller for a private equity–backed pharmaceutical company, assuming full global controllership responsibilities and leading a team of 25 following an unexpected leadership departure. Ed has also supported a regional bank during a CFO transition, a publicly traded clean energy company (NET Power), and served as Corporate Controller for Charles & Colvard, where he oversaw SEC reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.

His earlier roles include senior accounting support for a clinical research organization, VP & Controller for Genworth Financial’s US Mortgage Insurance Division, and financial oversight at BlueCross BlueShield and Martin Marietta Materials. Ed’s depth of experience spans technical accounting, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and leadership through complex transitions.

Tony Mikesell: Senior FP&A Consultant (Triangle)  

Experienced Vaco Consultant, joining Vaco in Spring 2022, bringing deep FP&A expertise and a strong reputation from former colleagues and leadership. He has built and implemented financial models across multiple private equity–backed organizations, including real estate, behavioral healthcare, specialty pharma, and clinical research, supporting budgeting, forecasting, pricing, and investment decision-making.

His work has included developing bottom-up budgeting processes, liquidity forecasting, acquisition modeling, and cost impact analysis for business exits. Tony has also led strategic modeling efforts used by investment banks and PE firms for M&A and served as the finance lead on a Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP implementation, where he designed data relationships, security protocols, and Power BI reporting focused on management and utilization metrics.

Kim Manning: Staff Accountant (Triangle) 

Experienced Vaco Consultant, recently completed a project at a global pharmaceutical company. Supported the AP department after an SAP implementation. Tracked, investigated, and reconciled outstanding transactions. Prepared journal entries and performed reconciliations. Previously supported the AR department at a venture backed subscription and service company. Handled cash applications and bank deposits. Also assisted with cleaning up customer accounts. Strong experience in AP, employee expense processing, cash applications, billing, collections, bank and GL reconciliations, and journal entries.

Tasha Brown: Senior Operational Accounting Consultant – AR SME (Triangle)    

Experienced Vaco Consultant available immediately, after completing project supporting unbilled AR clean-up project for a private equity backed SaaS client, where her efforts led to our client recognizing $2M in unbilled revenue from orders lost in translation during a NetSuite implementation. Previously completed project for international private equity backed life science company with accounts receivable systems challenges in advance of AR/revenue module upgrade on NetSuite. Prior, her first Vaco project lasted nearly a year at a private equity backed life science company, where she improved invoicing processes within Salesforce and Intacct, including business process evaluation.

Tasha is skilled in all aspects of recording transactions, posting debits and credits, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accuracy and completeness of data, with a competency in the revenue cycle. She is proficient in managing credit analysis and accounts receivable, generating invoices and monthly statements for internal and external customers. SAP Super User in the order-to-cash module, has supported Master Data Set Up, led training on the O2C module in SAP at ABB, Quanex, and Armacell, and has been a part of several implementations and upgrades.

Durell Baptist: Revenue & Sales Operations Consultant (Triangle)    

Recent addition to the Vaco team, currently supporting a private equity backed service company with training sales reps on a new sales process, streamlining workflows, and eliminating bottlenecks, also serving as the lead on an implementation of a CRM tool (HubSpot). Previously, he worked with Bandwidth in revenue operations, where he managed quotas and KPI setting, developed and implemented revenue-generating programs leveraging data analysis, implemented end-to-end process mapping to optimize workflows, and using SQL for data analysis. Prior to Bandwidth, he served as a management analyst, designing and delivering training programs to improve team capabilities, productivity, and effectiveness. Began career with 11 years in operations with the US Marine Corps.

Desmond Jackson: Billing & Contracts Consultant (Triangle) 

Experienced Vaco Consultant, completing a 2-year engagement supporting a private equity-backed educational technology/software company, primarily focusing on contract entry and data management. He entered contracts into NetSuite while organizing and tracking information using Salesforce and Excel and worked on side projects such as preparing flux and annual recurring revenue reports. Desmond also contributed to the yearly audit by pulling data samples to ensure accuracy and compliance, and improved order entry efficiency when the company transitioned to a subscription-based system in Suite Billing.

Prior to joining Vaco, he worked in revenue operations and sales for a growing solar company, managing customer relationships, preparing quotes, submitting orders, resolving service issues, and staying up to date with industry trends and regulations. Desmond is also studying for the Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate, gaining skills in data cleaning, problem-solving, critical thinking, and data visualization, with experience in tools like Excel, SQL, Tableau, and R Programming.

Tosha Bailey: Senior Global Payroll Consultant (Triangle)   

Experienced Vaco Consultant, recently stepped in for the payroll manager at a global SaaS company. Oversaw payroll processing for ~500 employees globally. Also provided standardization and documentation following an ADP implementation. Previously supported a life science company, providing high-level analysis of payroll and HR processes as the company implemented a new HRIS. Also tasked with assessing payroll team members’ knowledge and breadth of experience and advised on alignment with company’s needs. Processed bi-weekly hourly and salaried payroll until a new payroll manager was hired and then led their training on systems and processes.

Previously completed a 15-month project supporting a private equity backed software company with Workday and ADP implementations. Reconciled two years of unpaid payroll taxes. Consolidated 30+ entities to a single general ledger, one global pay element list, and one payroll and statutory funding list.  20+ years’ experience in payroll and human resources, including managing payroll processing, payroll taxes, payroll accounting, equity & stock administration, analytics & reporting, and benefits administration. Global Payroll Manager, experienced in leading a team responsible for processing payroll for multiple entities across several countries. Extensive experience with system implementations and software integrations and is adept at documenting processes, compliance, and training.
