Nicole Ponden, Independence Blue Cross

Nicole is a Manager of Corporate Accounting at Independence Blue Cross specializing in Accounting Policy and Research where she primarily works with cross functional teams to provide technical accounting expertise for strategic/unusual transactions and implement new accounting standards. Nicole was instrumental in leading the adoption and implementation of the lease accounting standards for Independence Blue Cross.

Prior to joining Independence, Nicole worked at Cigna as a Manager of Accounting for employee-related benefit costs as well as a Manager of Accounting Policy and Research. Nicole also holds a CPA and has public accounting experience as an auditor with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Nicole graduated with honors from Widener University with a dual degree in Accounting and Management Information Systems.

Jill McCormack, Partner, PwC Philadelphia

Jill is a partner in PwC's Capital Markets Accounting Advisory Services group. Jill has served both public companies and growth-oriented private businesses. She has diverse experience in addressing the accounting and auditing matters impacting manufacturers, as well as the intangible valuation issues impacting branded products companies. She has been the partner for automotive suppliers, chemical, portfolio companies, pharmaceutical manufacturers, private equity and packaged food companies. Her responsibilities have encompassed both multinational engagements, as well as assisting small cap and private equity clients with raising capital as well as business combinations. In addition, Jill has experience with carve-out and collateral audits including the complexities pertaining to the allocation of assets/debt and Corporate items. As a result of her experiences, Jill was on tour in the firm's Accounting Services Group (2009-2011), where she specialized in business combinations. Jill has had international experience in Europe and the Caribbean prior to moving to the United States in 1994.

Len Neuhaus, LeaseAccelerator

Len is the vice president of lease accounting for LeaseAccelerator. In his role, Len works closely with large public and middle market private companies to help them successfully transition to and maintain compliance with the ASC 842 and IFRS 16 standards. With over 30 years’ experience as a CPA, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Operating Officer, Len brings a practical, real-world perspective to overcoming implementation challenges with accounting change projects.

Prior to joining LeaseAccelerator in 2019, Len most recently led the Project Management Office for the implementation of ASC 842, Leases, and ASC 606, Revenue from Contracts with Customers, at International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. (IFF) – a global Fortune 500 entity listed on the NYSE. Leading IFF’s adoption of ASC 842 and IFRS 16 on the company’s SAP platform using a prospective transition approach, Len set up a leasing center of excellence in the firm’s Global Services Center in Budapest, Hungary. He was responsible for designing and implementing the systems, processes, and controls for the successful, timely, and on-budget implementations of the new standards while spearheading the global implementation and application of these new standards at the corporate level.
