Liliane "Lil" Mylott has not only been positively impacting her network in the consulting industry for 25 years, but also plays the roles of mother, wife, fitness instructor, and friend. She would describe herself as driven, energetic, and conscientious. I had the pleasure of learning more about her.
Q: Why do you do the job you do?
A: In all honesty, I fell into this industry right out of college and have just stuck with it! I love the fast paced nature of this job, working with people (both internal and external), and learning about different industries, their challenges, and the common themes across all of the organizations.
Another aspect of my job that I love, is the impact I make on individual's lives and receiving “notes” in the mail referencing their appreciation of my support and assistance in helping them land their “dream job.”
Q: What is one piece of advice you wish you could tell your younger self?
A: To get out of our own way and not let your own self-doubt inhibit you from succeeding and taking risks!
Q: Who is your biggest inspiration?
A: My mother is my biggest inspiration. She spoke 7 languages, was born and raised in France, and moved to the US in her mid twenties. She had to overcome the stigma of being a foreign woman in the USA where she knew absolutely no one.
