Kate Whitaker has 12 years of professional experience. Today assisting our Executive Team as Vaco's Client Services Coordinator. Curious, creative, and adventurous are three words she'd use to describe herself.
Q: Why do you do the job you do?
A: Vaco has a lot of moving parts; everyone is always going 100 MPH. My job is to manage things for our anchors so they can focus on growing the business and delivering the best possible service to our clients. If no one is focusing on the details, big picture plans fall apart quickly. It’s satisfying to be the one applying the grease that lets the whole machine run smoothly. Plus, I like crossing things off my “to do” list.
Q: What is one piece of advice you wish you could tell your younger self?
A: Don’t limit yourself with narrow ideas of what you think you can do.
Q: Who is your biggest inspiration?
A: My daughter. She’s been tough from day one as a preemie in the NICU and she is constantly inspiring me to be the best version of myself.
Q: What are you currently binging?
A: An epidemiology podcast (hosted by two amazing female epidemiologists!) called This Podcast Will Kill You. It’s mostly not about COVID and they have themed cocktail recipes to go with each episode!
Kate is an avid photographer and has her own side hustle called A Change of Scene Photography. Her family got really into hiking to waterfalls during the shutdown last spring and they're planning on doing the same this year. Nature is one of her favorite subjects, so she is hoping this will be her new starting point!
